December Photo of the Month

I like the idea of time as a relative thing.

Kind of, anyway.

Certainly time seems to take longer when you’re in it than when you look back on it.

This December, and the multiple projects we’re in the middle of, is a case in point.

We had our last weekend as solo caretakers of the river house, feverishly working on the boat and also cleaning the house for the return of the rightful tenants.

We’ll miss this view.

We then turned our attention to the house, making a decision on whether to do carpet upstairs or tackle a wood floor project ourselves.

The budget dictated the answer. It’s amazing how DIY changes the equation of what is possible.

I SWEAR I do this work too!

We welcomed home our college freshman, a semester of college triumphantly under his belt. Helped second child get college applications filed. Traveled to see family in Vermont.

It felt like we lived a lot of life in one month.

How lucky are we!

Happy happy 2019!

(And what’s the photo I want to remember December with? I think it’s this one:
