Signs of Spring

I love spring. Between days getting longer and temperatures (at least sometimes) getting warmer, it feels like possibilities stretch out ahead.

Daffodils, just about to bloom!

On the boat, too, there are signs of spring. We’re starting to reassemble the taffrail and bulwarks and prep for paint. I’m getting interior surfaces prettied up and cleaning deck hardware and fasteners. It feels good to be doing this kind of work even as we realize we can’t get to at least one of the big projects we wanted to get done this time around. I guess the head will stay the way it is for another few months. No down below shower yet, unfortunately.

The plan still is to be out of the yard with both boats by the end of April. March will in all likelihood be a scramble; between prepping and painting and putting deck and cabin hardware back, we’ve got our work cut out for us. Then it’s out of the shed and into the yard for mast stepping before we can splash.
