Updated Plans

Our world, like so many others’, has been thrown into major upheaval with the world events of the last few weeks.

  • Empty nesters no more: We’ve got 2 college kids home from college, spending the last weeks of the semester with remote learning.

  • News from the cruising fleet about borders being closed, in some cases while a boat was on passage, leaving them to set off for another 2 week sea jaunt and a hope they can get in somewhere.

  • Supermarkets with bare shelves. Highway signs telling us to STAY HOME and #flattenthecurve

At this point, not knowing how long life as we know it will be upended, we have postponed putting the house on the market. This means we have a place to live with the kids that’s a little larger than the boat, which isn’t ready for habitation in any case.

At this point, we’re shelving cruising plans for 2020. Work will still continue on Calypso, assuming we can get back down to her.

Meanwhile, we’re honing our cooking skills, flexibility skills, and living in close quarters skills. May everyone reading this be healthy enough to do the same.
