Fall Colors

Last year, we were up here until the 4th week in September. The leaves had sort of begun to turn, and we enjoyed crisp earlier evenings but saw nothing more impressive than was usual in Virginia.

This year? Someone turned on the color drenching.

Waking up and looking across to Brousseau.

The drive to Colebrook, New Hampshire (home of the fabulous Hicks Hardware store), takes us right alongside Wallace Pond, where the other side of the water is Canada and at least in some years seems to have a rope border across the middle. On Saturday, the views almost had us driving off the road. Leaf season causing car accidents? I totally understand now.

Geese in Vermont. Blaze of glory in Canada.

Jeremy was even inspired to take out the drone. Long day scraping and painting capped by a beer on the deck in 70 degree weather, plus flying the drone? Sounds good to me!

Almost every other minute I heard a “this is RIDICULOUS!” accompanied by the click of the screen to take a snapshot.

OPO on the right; tennis court on the left. Coffee Cove in the middle.

No filter, no editing. And I have a feeling that this doesn’t really capture the true glory. How about one more?

Lollipop trees

With rain and wind, we might be looking at sticks next weekend. This, like photos from the Bahamas, will have to hold us until we see it again.
